Beverly Williams Obituary

Beverly A. Williams, a beacon of selflessness and generosity, left an indelible mark on the world when she passed away on April 15, 2024, in Banning, California. She was born on November 28, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Beverly's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on their community.

Beverly's educational journey was a reflection of her dedication to nurturing young minds. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Development from Mt. San Jacinto College, followed by a Bachelor's in Education from Cal Baptist University. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as a Headstart Teacher in the Banning School District and the Morongo Indian Reservation. For 23 years, she also served as an Instructional Assistant with the Riverside County Office of Education. Her commitment to the growth and development of children was unwavering, and her influence shaped countless lives.

Beverly's heart was as expansive as her smile, and she poured her energy into the community of Banning. As a member of the Sunrise Church, she dedicated her time to helping at the Food Pantry and feeding the homeless, embodying the spirit of service. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as she was honored with the Stagecoach Days Citizen of the Year award in 1997. Beverly's involvement with the Banning Junior Women's Club, the Banning Red Carnation Award for volunteer efforts, and her support of the Banning High School Booster Club, Banning Little League, and the Girl & Boy Scouts showcased her unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of others.

Beverly's legacy extends through her family, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her loving son, Wesley Williams of Kenmore, Washington; her devoted daughter, Amber Williams of Bakersfield, California; and her cherished granddaughter, Nevaeh Williams, also of Kenmore, Washington. Her brothers, Raymond Johnson (Diane) and Charley Johnson (Kris), her sister, Charlene Hunter, life-long friend Robert E. Lee, and supportive former husband, Alton Williams, will hold her memory close, as will the many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Beverly now joins her late father, Johnny Johnson; mother, Neotha Joseph; brother, Albert Johnson; and sisters, Johnnie Mae Arceneaux, Arthyl Stillwell, and Elsie Mae Pierre, in eternal peace.

Beverly's life was a masterclass in friendliness and generosity. She approached each day with a selfless spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her involvement with the Banning PTA, the Banning Stagecoach Committee, and numerous other volunteer efforts were driven by her belief that everyone has the capacity to make a difference. She will be remembered as a motivational force, a woman who saw the best in people and inspired them to reach their full potential. Her unwavering positivity and boundless energy were contagious, and she left a legacy of love and service that will continue to resonate within the community. She never met a stranger, always greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. Everyone will remember "come here give Brown Suga a hug".
