Norman Ruiz, 81, of Banning Ca, left us on February 1, 2024.
He was a lifelong athlete and construction worker.
He started working as a laborer right out of High School and worked his way up to foreman. He then got his cement contractor's license and owned his own company, Angel Eagle Construction, until the day he passed.
He played with the Palm Springs High School baseball team while in school, and the Soboba Men's Club and the Morongo Men's Club baseball teams, in his later years. Norman started golf with his son Norman Jr., in his 50's and played until the end, with his golf partner, Jim Crow.
Lifelong resident of Banning, he is survived by his wife Joanna Ruiz, sisters Charlene Seeley, Janice Flowers, Marian Ruiz, brothers Theron Ruiz and Doug Ruiz, godchildren Keri Lyons and Duane Sandoval, granddaughters Sunnie Lyons and Kristen Ruiz, great grandchildren Robert Lyons, Joplin Lyons and Charlotte "Pickle" Lyons.
Preceded in death by his father Peter Ruiz, father-in-law Joe Becerra, mother-in-law Grace Becerra, brother Wesley Ruiz, sister Elaine Bova, son Norman Ruiz Jr., son Sean Ruiz, brother-in-law Joe Duane Becerra and sister-in-law Virginia Lyons.
His viewing will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 8:00-10:00 am at the Morongo Community Center.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Morongo Community Center, followed by the burial at Morongo Moravian Cemetery.
