Danny Ray Kirkpatrick

Danny Ray Kirkpatrick of Somers, MT (formerly Yucaipa, CA), age 70, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, as a result of cardiac arrest at his home in Yucaipa where he had been spending the winter months.

Danny was born on April 9th, 1953 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center hospital in Corona (now Norco), the eldest of two boys born to Donald Ray Kirkpatrick and Billie Maurice Carr. His father, Don, was serving in the U.S. Marines at the time. Both of his parents had come to California from Oklahoma as young adults. He grew up in Lakewood during his elementary school years and later on in Corona, graduating from Corona High School in 1971. Born into a loving home with fine Christian parents, Danny chose to follow the Lord as a teenager, and lived out the rest of his life as a faithful member of the church of Christ.

His early work life consisted of various jobs in the construction industry, performing mainly carpentry and concrete work on commercial projects. In mid-career, he fabricated mountain bikes for a few years, and his most recent job was in Plant Operations at the Riverside County Hospital, from which he retired in January, 2015.

Danny's first marriage was to Jennifer Beaubien in 1977 with whom he had two daughters, Amber and Michelle. In 1994, he married his second wife, Peggie LaPointe. They resided in Yucaipa for 22 years. In 2021, construction was completed on their new dream home in Montana that he had designed, where they planned to spend the remainder of their years together.

Survivors include his 96-year-old father Don of Banning; his younger brother Tony of Banning; his eldest daughter Amber of Scottsdale, AZ; youngest daughter Michelle and husband Lee Lopez of Beaumont, his wife Peggie of Yucaipa, and also a number of relatives in Oklahoma and Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie, in 2022.

A memorial service will be held on April 11th at the Women's Club in Yucaipa at 10 a.m., 35215 Avenue A in Yucaipa. Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wiefels & Son in Banning.
