Larry Law Obituary

Larry Wesley Law Sr., a beloved member of his community, passed away at the age of 71 on March 7, 2024. He was born in Banning, California, to Pearline (Lacy) Law and Elmo Law and lived on the Aqua Caliente Section 14 Indian Reservation. Both of his parents preceded him in death. Larry was married to Betty (Bland) Law for 47 years, August 08, 1975 - November 24, 2022. They shared a journey spanning 52 years before Betty peacefully passed away.

Larry is survived by his loving children: Katrina Brown, Kamesha Law, Keisha Law, and Larry Cantu-Law. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through his 10 grandchildren: Dewayne Law, LaNeika Jackson, Darnell Brown, DeVon Brown, Brianna Jackson, Maya Ramos, Dominic Ramos, Bryan Rolle, Jayla Flood, Cydney Campfield, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: Godmother's Bernise Alexander and Mary Taylor, Siblings: Samuel Elmore {Felice}, Rod Law {Angela}, Isadore Wilson {Robin}, Valerie (Law) Malone, Juelene (Wilson) Lee {Herbert}, Willma Session-Glover (Terry), Brother-in-law James Johnson, Sister-in-law Mary Law {Predeceased by siblings Rita (Law) Johnson and Kenny Law} with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and camaraderie.

Larry was introduced to Christ at an early age being baptized by Pastor J.P. Prior at First Missionary Baptist Church. He spent his adolescent years in the Palm Springs unified school district and later graduated from Banning High School.

A proud Army Veteran, Larry dedicated 20 years of his life in service to his country before retiring back to his hometown of Banning. Prior to joining the Army, he worked in construction. Retirement afforded him the leisure life of watching sports, playing dominoes, and enjoying family gatherings. For Larry, fishing and barbecuing were not merely hobbies; they were expressions of love and connection.

A pillar of strength in his community, Larry was known for his generosity and unwavering support. He touched countless lives through his selfless acts of kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who know him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A wake will be held on April 11, 2024, from 1-5pm at Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel 50 E Nicolet St #5543, Banning, CA- 92220.

A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held on April 12, 2024, at 10 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church 332 N Allen St., Banning, CA 92220.
