Phillip Garcia Obituary

Phillip Garcia was born April 16, 1955, in Riverside, California to Florian and Flora Garcia. He grew up in Southern California with his six siblings. Phillip was a tribal member of Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians. He passed away surrounded by love on March 28, 2024.

Phillip married the love of his life, Elsie Mendez Garcia and they enjoyed 30 years of memories and growing a beautiful family together which includes 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Phillip leaves a full loving family to honor his memory including his wife Elsie Mendez Garcia, only surviving sister Viola "Angie" Pena, daughter Charlotte Arres, children: Angela, Andrea, and Rosie Olvera and Teresa Crow, grandchildren: Lil Danny, Ethan, and Ayden Hernandez, Mario Soria, Kelsie and Guil Felix, Delayna and Christian Winters, Bernadine, Marlene, Andrew, Aaron, and Jaclyn Olvera, Gabriel, Angel, and Alina Villalpando, Sylvia, Angelica, Leann, Elias, Beto, & Joseph, great-grandchildren: Autumn, Lil Guil, Grayson, Aliyah, Maddy, Lil Mario, Matthew, Joseph, Lil Abel, Isaiah, Francisco, Jasper, Ivanna, Monique, Rosalina, Timmy, Sarah, Lil Angel, Valarie, Lucy, Cecilia, Josiah, Jazzy, Mariah, Milly, Marissa, Madeline, Lil Andrew, Kalao, Jacob, Ian, Ali, Jazzy, Annalissa, Mayla, Maylene & Nolani, great-great-grandchild Iyla, and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father Florian Steven Garcia, mother Flora Helen (Andreas) Garcia, grandmother Alice Lopez, brothers Ted, Vincent, Freddy, and Ruben Garcia, and sister Mary Muruffo.

The following services will be held to celebrate his life:

Visitation Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm at Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel 50 East Nicolet St, Banning, California 92220

Graveside Burial Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at Torres Martinez Toro Cemetery Thermal, California

Pallbearers: Lil Danny, Ethan, Ayden, Mario, Guil, Kelsie, Christian, Sammy, Mikey, Robert, Wayne, and Joseph
